Hello, ‘Business Tribe.’

5W1H: An Old Tool, a New Application

This week MMA Architect Inc.’s blog focuses on Women, as Women’s History Month is just around the corner. You might want to inspire a woman you know by sharing these 6 steps.

W1 – Who?

Connect with others. Reach out and contact people. Email, message, phone or write women you know, those you would like to get to know better and those you admire. Don’t be isolated, get out and about. This may mean stepping outside your comfort zone. Try to keep it real with one to one face-time and events, not just online communication.  Invite other women to attend events with you. You ask 4 to attend an event and they each ask a guest. That’s a rapid way to build community and help to foster interesting events. The Co-founder and president of Eventbrite, Julia Hartz has this to say about the need to gather. . .

W2 – What?

What can you read to motivate or inform yourself? Choose a topic and then get passionate about your knowledge. If something has energized you, write about what has inspired you. At first, you may just want to keep a private journal. Later, you may be moved to publish your writing.

W3 – Where?

Map your inspiration. Know exactly where the light went on. Mark the moment on your calendar, eg. Biz X Magazine’s August Networking Cruise, and make it a priority to attend it every year. Give shout-outs to favourite authors, coaches, bookstores, blog sites, boutiques or whatever wonderful individual or entities led you to your aha moments.

W4 – When?

Find when events on topics are happening. Attending events enriches your knowledge and boosts confidence. Be sure to attend these as often as possible.

W5 – Why?

Why should you care deeply about topics that intrigue you? You should care because it enlivens you, assisting you to live a more interesting, authentic, and positive life. Get passionate about something. Live to make meaning.

H1 – How?

Ask yourself, how can I make a difference in other women’s lives? Pay it forward. Share this new application of an old tried and true tool with at least four women. In addition, be generous with your time, have an inclusive ‘we are better together’ attitude and lift-up other women.

Book Tip: I highly recommend, “Remember the Ladies: A Woman’s Book of Days” – Daily readings on over 400 Famous Women.
